Locations for CBF Assemblies

Postby Ed Pettibone » Wed Aug 10, 2011 5:52 pm

Ed: I just realized that when we go to Texas for the assembly next year it will be the second time in three years. Has there ever been one in Tennessee?
I would vote for The Chattanooga Convention Center. http://chattconvention.org/ From their site
From the Chattanooga Convention Center, you can walk to world famous attractions, more than 35 popular restaurants and 2,000 first-class hotel rooms. Within five to fifteen miles, there are an additional 7,000 hotel rooms and 150 restaurants.

And I know it has been over 14 years since we had one in Kentucky, and has South Carolina ever hosted one ? How about Virginia? I know Richmond had one but it was before Louisville.

If we went back to Alabama Mobile looks interesting http://www.mobileconventions.com/

I would concur with the General Assembly moving to places other than Texas, even though Texas general assemblies are some of the best attended.

In 2008, General Assembly was in Memphis.

Ed: Thank you Bruce, that dawned me after I had moved on. In fact I have a Picture of you , Neil and Trudy standing in front of a restaurant trying to decide if we wanted to try it. It turned out to be very good. Also have pics of the streetcars in front of the convention center. I still think we need to move the General Assemblies around more. I enjoy the meetings and seeing old friends but part of the attraction is also seeing new places.
