Baptist Fellowship of Oklahoma & Northeast

Ed: The Oklahoma group has invited the Baptist Fellowship of the Northeast to join with them in a Mission project in Canada near Montreal in August. The BFNE coordinating Council will recommend to the membership that we accept this invitation when we meet for our Spring meeting in April. The project will
involve assisting a French speaking Baptist Group with maintenance and refurbishing of a camp / retreat center near Montreal.

Flick, Today one of our coordinators (Sandy Hale) was on the phone With T-Thomas getting additional information, and I asked her to suggest that T twist your arm to join this trip. When she suggested it to him, he told her about how busy you are with your job at the newspaper and at your church. My reply was yes I know and I think Flick deserves a break from that routine. :) I would love a chance to be on a paint crew with you. :) Is your passport up to date?

I met yesterday in Oklahoma City with the CBFO PLG (Peer Learning Group, formerly known as the "Dead Pastor's Society"). T Thomas mentioned that he talked a guy who knew me well but he had forgotten your name. Didn't read this post until today, thus couldn't figure out who he was talking about.

Anyway, Ed, I'd jump at the chance to take some time off and and be on that paint crew. However, I have a conflict that prevents my going. My son, Philip, has taken a teaching assistantship at the University of Miami Frost School of Music. He will begin work on a D.M.A and will be moving to Florida in the middle of August. I'll be helping him move. I regret that I can't join my fellow Okies and the BFNE... Maybe there will be another time down the line when I can be on a paint cew with you...

We will now miss all the stories of "Sloppy" and "Drippy" on the paint crew. I'm just not certain which one would be which.

Ed; Actually David, T. and I did not speak directly. I simply had Sandy Hale pass on my suggestion that he twist your arm to attend. But I understand the prior commitment to your son --- But Miami in August ???????? Brush up on your Spanish. And of course my French is rusty, plus the largest mosquitoes I have ever seen where in a campground on Ile Bizzard just outside Montreal when I attended EXPO 67. That was the 1967 Worlds Fair, for those BL.Comer's who where not yet born at that time. :)

My congratulations to Philip!
