Where's Baptist Press?

I have yet to see a story from Baptist Press on the CBF's General Assembly.

Did Roach & BP not make the trip to Houston?

Was SBC money spent for missions instead. One can hope....;

Looks to me like the General Assembly go so tepid that even Roach or the Ledbetters couldn't find anything exciting to write about.

Hmm... Kinda has a nice ring to it. Didn't they once sing at the Grand Ole' Opry? :)

Not sure if this has been posted elsewhere, but Baptist Press did report on the CBF in Houston on July 16:

OUtside of jabs about money, there was no hatchet job attempted.

Wonder if "Erin Roach" (the story's compiler) is Mrs. Roachboy, thus graciously submissive to his authority? (Sorry, couldn't resist... In honor of the long-lamented-and-greatly-missed-around-here RikRite.)
:? :D
For sure, the reporting by Baptist Press was more tame this year, although the troubling financial statistics of both the SBC and CBF speak for themselves.

Mrs. Roachboy? wrote:"Our survival amidst brutal and sustained attacks is amazing," [CBF national coordinator Daniel] Vestal said...

That was the most insightful and accurate quote from the entire article.

Ed: Mark, I am no fan of David Roach's past reporting in regard to CBF , however I think the "Roachboy" label is rather crude. And Yes Erin is David's wife. Unlike David who is a stringer for BP Erin is a BP staff person. Neither of them have been as caustic or shade the truth as much as Russ More. I have never had the feeling that they wrote their story prior to the event, as I have with Russ. On the other hand I do not recall any of this group ever writing anything that spoke well of CBF, even when they where in attendance at great worship services and work shops.
