Update from Virginia

Postby Dave Roberts » Mon Jul 27, 2015 3:16 pm

Today, Virginia CBF entered a new realm. I would appreciate your prayers as I embark on an interim in this new direction.

"During the transition, CBFVA has invited David E. Roberts to serve as Interim Coordinator while CBFVA conducts the search for the next Field Coordinator."

Good choice by the CBFVA.

I'll be honest. It's a challenge, but I feel very humbled and honored to have been asked. I'll try to keep BL family posted as this progresses. During the month of August, Rob and I will work together, then I will have it on my own until the next coordinator is chosen after which I will work with that person for a few weeks. Their transition model is to have overlap and a smooth handoff.

Congratulations Dave. With such leadership Virginia will stay among the state and regional leaders leaders.

Congratulations! Is there a specific time frame on the search, or are you there indefinitely?

The hope is for someone to be in place by January at the earliest, but we have made provision for the interim to be extended if the search takes longer.

Congrats, Dave!

Will you be here at CBF offices in Decatur for the meeting later this month of state/regional coordinators?

I will miss Rob - he was always my go-to state coordinator for things. If you need anything, send me an email - aweaver@cbf.net

Aaron, Rob and I both plan to be there. We are overlapping this month, and the model is for me to overlap for a couple of weeks when the new coordinator comes so as to create continuity. We don't know for certain, but this may be a first for a CBF state organization to create an intentional model for transition. National has done so with Tommy Boland and Pat Anderson, but we can't find any information on other states working with the model.

Sounds like a good model, worth trying out in practice.
