"New Baptist Covenant in Philadelphia" is written at the top of my October 2010 calendar page. Did I make a mistake, or was it canceled? Is anyone going?

Dates?

Ed: Chris according to second hand information through our Regional Office, it has been canceled. I thought I had posted several weeks ago that the Secretary at our ABCNYS Regional office had called the national ABC office at Vally forge to confirm that much for me. I have not been able to come up with any additional details.

I think there may be another national gathering in 2011, but I don't have any info on that.

Godbold political bio of President Carter

Postby Stephen Fox » Tue Dec 14, 2010 9:46 pm

Carter's time up until he was elected Governor of Georgia.

It is fascinating indeed.

I am a fan of President Carter and grateful for everything he has done for progressive Baptists movement and the Covenant gatherings in particular.

But if not unseemly would be fascinating indeed for him to be a part of panel to discuss some of the inflections of Godbold's look on his political origins, particularly his race for Governor of Georgia:

Ed: Neil, I had thought so also but if it is going to happen there better be some promotion/information SOON. :( Last time around I had already confirmed my hotel reservations three before this time of year. I am afraid the first half of the year is already beyond reason. For instance, I already have two ABCNYS Board of Missions meetings, an associational meeting, the Spring BFN gathering and the CBF assembly plus consideration of the ABC Biennial on my plate going into July. Some of us have to budget further in advance than some of our leaders for whom these events are on an expense account.
