I notice that NJamseon is our newest registered member. Here's a hearty welcome to Norman. It's been quite a long time since I've conversed with him, but I remember when he was on the staff of the OKLAHOMA BAPTIST MESSENGER back in the last century, eons ago. I suppose that dates both of us.
Back then, before I left Southern Baptists (SBC) and became an American Baptist (ABC), Bob Mathews, another staffer for the MESSENGER, would occasionally print some of my pastor's pen on the back page of the Oklahoma Baptist newspaper. That was waaay before the days of internet online dissemination of local church news. Actually, it was back in the dark ages of the 1970s-80s. Those articles made me sort of famous in Oklahoma for awhile back in those days of oh so long ago.
Anyway, Norman, welcome to the BaptistLife.Com discussion forums. You're in good company here.
I have roots in North Carolina. My Great-grandfather, John Emanuel Linville, came to Oklahoma in 1906. He was a native of the region near Linville, NC.
