Searching for hymn books

Postby Juanita Larson » Thu Dec 05, 2013 3:18 pm

I found your website while searching for used Baptist hymn books for a nursing home in Woonsocket, SD. My husband has been a resident there since March 2013. My family attended church and were members in a small Baptist church in Marvin, SD. I did join the ELCA Lutheran church when I got married and moved to the Woonsocket area but left that church because of their changes the last few years. I am now a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church (SBC) in Mitchell, SD and have been for about 2 years. Our church and another Baptist church hold Sunday worship at the nursing home 2 Sundays a month and do not have nearly enough hymn books. I am looking for 'THE BAPTIST HYMNAL' copyright 1991. :) I am able to pay small fee for them. I would appreciate any help in finding some. Thanks.

Unfortunately I don't have any extras. If I run across any I'll send them your way.

Welcome! I used to have a copy of the Baptist Hymnal but I don't think I have it around anymore. But I'll look at my hymnal collection and take a look.

I think I have an extra 1975 Baptist Hymnal around, but that's a very different creature. I wonder if the Celebrating Grace folks (or Lifeway) have a clearinghouse to help people who have upgraded to BH2008 or CG2010 pass their old stock on to needy and worthy recipients? Also, if you haven't already done so, you might put a note about your needs on the appropriate forum at hymnary.org: The Hymnal Clearinghouse, or the corresponding bulletin board at the Hymn Society website: Hymnal Donation Clearinghouse.
